Healthy banana bread

Healthy banana bread

Since I’ve found this great, healthy and super simple banana bread recipe, I spent a little time every Sunday on baking. It is so easy to freeze in some slices and warm them up for breakfast or as a snack and it is also pretty healthy. And the best thing is, it’s so easy to make, everyone can do it! So, do you want to know how to make banana bread? Keep reading!

How to make banana bread:

  • 4 bananas
  • 150 grams of (preferably almond) flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1.5 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
  • 1.5 tablespoons of honey
  • Some jam on top is great when serving!

Heat up the oven at 170 degrees Celsius. Start by peeling the bananas and throw them in the food processor. You can also use a mixer and a mixing bowl for this, that works fine as well if you cut the bananas into smaller pieces. Add the flour, eggs, baking powder, cinnamon and honey and mix it all up into a smooth dough. You could also add some soft nuts, like walnuts, if you would like after the heavy mixing is done.

Grease the cake mold with butter or baking spray and put the mixture in. You could add some cinnamon on top for a nice effect. Put it in the oven for 60-70 minutes. After that, let it cool off outside the oven in the mold before cutting it loose. It will keep being a little sticky on the inside, so no worries about that!

I absolutely LOVE banana bread, so I obviously went through the banana bread phase in lockdown and making it every single day. I’ve never seen a recipe use honey so I’ll definitely give this a go and see what the difference is! xx
