How to lose weight with a busy schedule
Some days, nothing seems to fit right and your body just seems bloated. However. You don’t feel like you have been eating that much more than before. You might be searching for weight loss tips. Well, here are some tips on how to lose weight with a busy schedule, without a diet or being unhealthy.
1. Drink at least 1.5 liters of water or tea a day to lose some weight
A big reason for feeling hungry is often not actual hunger, but thirst. Therefore, making sure you drink between 1.5 to 2 liters of water can help you with only eating if you are actually hungry. Don’t use it as a way to eat to little, but try to drink one or two glasses before each meal might help to make you understand your body better. Water is not a stand-in for a meal though!
It is also important to stick to water or tea. If you do this instead of drinks with more calories, like juices or soda, the benefits of drinking enough liquids don’t weigh up to the calories in those drinks. Coffee is a more difficult one. Coffee does not add calories (when there are no additives in it) and it is good for losing toxins, but it also makes you lose out on some hydration. Therefore, coffee is good, but only when you drink enough water and tea as well.
2. Start of with some egg and enough calories
Breakfast truly is the most important meal of the day. Therefore, a healthy, filling breakfast is vital to a good diet, since it will stop you from snacking throughout the day. Especially eggs have been found to reduce eating throughout the rest of the day and since they have a lot of protein and fats in them, they are a great start to a healthy breakfast. One of my favourite ways to eat them is my spicy spinach omelet recipe, or if I don’t have much time, I boil them and take one with me.
3. Eat 2 pieces of fruit every day outside of your regular meals
It is no secret that eating two pieces of fruit is a good idea in general, so lots of people eat them as a dessert or part of their breakfasts. However, I prefer eating my two pieces as snacks in between meals. This way, I eat throughout the day, so I don’t get hungry and don’t miss out on my vitamins, without having to eat extra things. It’s a two birds one stone kinda thing.
4. Walk to the supermarket
Getting enough exercise can be hard enough as it is, especially if you have a desk job. A way to get my half an hour a day is to walk to the supermarket. For me, this is about ten minutes to go there and ten minutes back. Therefore it does not feel like I am losing important time throughout the day by doing this. It does however give me 20 minutes of exercise and it is a perfect way to clear my head after work. S
ince I have to cycle to the station for work for 10 minutes also, that is 40 minutes of exercise per day without losing too much time. Combined with going to the gym once a week and exercising for an hour per week at home as well, my body has nothing to complain about. If you love exercising, this is of course not necessary. However, for people that struggle with this, this is a good way to balance responsibility and pleasure in this subject.
5. Try to build relaxation time into each day
Stress is a huge factor in gaining weight and retaining fat within the body. The reason for this is better explained in Stress, the good, the bad and the ugly. Regardless, it is thus important to not stress too much. Hobbies, talking about your emotions and working in a positive environment can help. Just setting a fixed time a day to relax can also help a lot. For me, this is the hour before I go to bed (and longer before if possible). Even in the busiest times, this is an important ritual to me to keep myself grounded when the normal strategies against stress don’t work anymore. Other tips are to be found here.
